Beauty in Death

there's something about
the beauty in death.

the way the living
take their last breaths.

and the world around them
seems to crumble,

and their bodies never
even tremble.

and i feel in my heart,
that i'm supposed to miss you,

but the bullet
was last to kiss you.

so take it's kiss,
to the grave.
and though all my life
you were brave,
the pull of the trigger,
took that away.
but now you're gone,
and all that's left is pain.
and my lips will never
grace yours again.
